Hey love and welcome back. I am so glad you're here. If you are new, I'm Shannon, and this space is all about manifesting from the inside out. So that means no forcing, no pretending, no skipping the deep stuff, just real conversations to help you live the life your soul already knows is yours. So last week we talked about the reframe that changes everything with your mindset, where it's not self-sabotage going on in your mind, it's self-protection, right? So instead of being down on ourselves, we show ourselves grace when we're moving through the process of reframing and changing any limiting beliefs that we have. And this week we're gonna continue that conversation in a way because if you've ever felt like your manifestations aren't landing, no matter how hard you try, there's probably a reason that has nothing to do with your affirmations or your vision boards. It's probably because you're trying to manifest from survival mode. And babe, you can't create magic while your brain thinks you're in danger. So this episode is gonna show you how to clear that out of your mind, how to clear out the chaos, not by faking positivity, because toxic positivity is just not it, but really about calming your nervous system so your brain can actually access that creative possibility and abundance living inside of you. So I want you to grab your favorite drink, cozy up, and let's get started. I want to geek out for a second because you know that I love explaining why manifestation works and why it sometimes doesn't. So when you're stressed out, when the bills are due, when someone pisses you off, you know, you're in traffic and you kind of got some road rage going on, your to-do list is drowning you, your brain is gonna go into survival mode, which is just fight, flight, or freeze. That means that your brain is narrowed on one question. How do I stay safe right now? Think of it this way: if you're walking through the woods and a mountain lion steps out in front of you, are you thinking about redecorating your room? Yeah, no, absolutely not. You're thinking about how the hell to get out of there without getting mauled. That's exactly what your brain does when life feels overwhelming. It is not interested in dreaming or visualizing or manifesting, it's just trying to survive. When you try to manifest from that place, it's like pressing the gas and the brake at the same time on your car. You can try to call an expansion, but when your brain is screaming, we're not safe, nothing's happening, hun. And this is why just think happy thoughts mantras can backfire. Because if your system's deregulated, if your heart's racing, your chest is tight, your mind is spiraling, forcing yourself to be high vibe, as they say, does not soothe you. It makes your body feel more unsafe. Like imagine being in the woods with that mountain lion and trying to chant, everything is fine, I'm safe, I'm abundant. You'd freak yourself out even more. That's how most people are manifesting from the place their nervous system doesn't trust. I like to say it's trying to manifest from desperation because a lot of times, especially those who've manifested for a while, were like, you know what, I know I can change this. I know I have the power within me to make this different. So I'm gonna focus on that instead, but you haven't regulated your nervous system first because you're in a place of desperation where you're like, I gotta manifest something now. And that's dysregulation. The great thing is that you don't have to ignore your stress to manifest, right? You don't have to say, well, I'm stressed, so I can't engage in manifestation because I'm in survival mode. That's not what I'm telling you. I'm telling you that when life is chaotic, when your money's tight, when you're tired, when things are just heavy, you may wonder to yourself at this point, should I fix all of that stuff before I engage in my manifesting practices? And the answer is a resounding no, because you're not actually in the woods. You're not in physical danger. What you need is to just acknowledge what's happening and then guide yourself into a calmer state before you try to manifest. So you don't have to pretend everything's okay. You just have to remind your body that it's safe enough to relax for a few minutes. I'm not fixing anything. Just in this moment, I'm gonna relax. That's how you clear up your mindset, not by escaping your life, not by trying to fix it and make it perfect so then you can then engage in your manifestation practices, but by regulating your energy so you can think clearly and focus again. Even a few minutes of calm shifts your brain out of survival mode and back into creation mode. How can you bring awareness to tell if you're in survival mode? Because you can't clear your mindset if you don't know you're stuck in that fight, flight, or freeze feeling in your mind. A lot of us are used to it, which is pretty sad, but a lot of us are used to being in that state, so it feels very normal. So get aware. Here are some signs that your nervous system may be running the show to help bring that awareness because this stuff does feel normal to us in this day and age. It could be that you can't stop overthinking, so you're replaying conversations, maybe you're second-guessing decisions and you feel like your mind won't shut off. Or you could always be on edge, like small things are a big deal, a late text or a messy house or a small mistake. It could be possible that you're exhausted, but you're wired. Like you're tired all the time, but you just can't relax or sleep deeply. Maybe you're just numbed out. Maybe you scroll endlessly and you know, snack when you're not hungry because you're bored. I've been doing that lately. So like I had to bring awareness to that, right? Maybe you busy yourself with distractions because slowing down feels uncomfortable. Another sign to be aware of is maybe you can't focus on your desires. Maybe you sit down to visualize or journal and your brain goes blank or it jumps straight to how it won't work, or all the things in the way. And lastly, something that could indicate that you are in survival mode is that your body just feels tight or heavy. Maybe you have tense shoulders or knots in your stomach, or you're just shallowly breathing. All physical cues that your body is bracing for something. If you recognize yourself in any of those, there's nothing wrong with you. You're just in protection mode. And I want that to be clear because I feel like so many times when we talk about the things that get in our way with manifestation, our nervous system, we always bring it back to, well, there must be something wrong with me. Just like we talked about last week, we need to shift that mindset and we can apply it here. Awareness is power because the moment you realize, oh, this isn't lack of discipline, this is just my nervous system, you stop judging yourself. And that's where the manifestation can start to roll. So let's talk about how you can calm your mindset, right? Let's how do I get out of that mode, especially if I wasn't aware, but now I'm aware. What do I do next? Let's just make it super practical. So before you dive into, you know, your journaling, your visualizations, your affirmations, any of those things, just take a few minutes to bring yourself back to center. So that could be deep breathing, slow, lower, longer breaths that are steady. Those tell your nervous system I'm safe. Deep breathing activates your rest, your digestion, it lowers your heart rate, it calms your cortisol, it signals your body, danger is not here. Okay, it's past. So just inhale slowly through your nose for four counts, hold for two, then exhale for six. You can start there, something as simple as that to let your whole system unwind. Or you can do gentle stretching. I want to give you guys a couple different options, like do what feels good to you. You should do what feels good to you. So maybe you like to stretch, maybe some gentle stretching when you're you're stressed, if your body's tensed up. Stretching releases stored tension. It gives your body sensory proof that it's safe to open up again. And I'm not talking about like a whole yoga routine. You can roll your shoulders, you can tilt your neck, you know, unclench your fist. Whatever feels good as a stretch to you. It's telling your body, hey, basically, we're not in the woods anymore, right? Like that's not where we are. And so it opens you up. Another thing you could try is fresh air and movement, getting outside, even for a couple of minutes, y'all. It changes your brain chemistry. That fresh air and that natural light is going to increase the oxygen flow, the serotonin, which helps your mind feel grounded and balanced. Sometimes I feel like I'm too relaxed because I did live so long in survival mode that it was so normal to me. Now, because of how I've manifested my life, I go sit outside multiple times a day for the fresh air, for the fresh air, for being in nature, for the sunlight. I live for it. And I am so relaxed. Like it's a new feeling, but a good feeling because I've been doing it for so long. But going outside, if you can, if you have time, if you have the ability, you can do that. Maybe you can't do that. Maybe you're like, yeah, I don't live somewhere like that, or like it's cold. Because once it gets cold, I'm not gonna do that as much. But you can do movement like walking or dancing, even if it's around your house to help process leftover stress in your system so it doesn't stay stuck. So you're not in go, go, go mode. You know, how many times do you put on your headphones and dance around while you're cleaning your house? Just movement in general. If you can, which I think is amazing. To me, this is my favorite, but do what you like. Step outside barefoot, feel the ground, look at something far away. That widens your field of vision. It signals to your brain that your environment is safe again. My husband would say, heck no. He's like, why would you stand barefoot? Drives him crazy when I do that. He's like, that's so gross, but I like to put my feet in the mud and the dirt and the grass, you name it. Another one you could do, once again, is like dancing or shaking it out. We talked about that already with number three. But this one is super sneaky powerful. So when animals come out of danger, they shake. Like literally, if you watch nature, it's how they discharge the adrenaline from their body, and we can do the same thing. So do turn on that song that makes you feel good and move your body however your body wants to move. So it could be wiggling or dancing or swaying. It's not about being like high vibe or cutesy, you know, that old saying, like, dance like no one's watching, just move like no one's watching. It's not about doing it a certain way, it's about releasing the trapped energy that's kept you in survival mode. It's amazing by doing that how quickly your thoughts will quiet down when your body lets go of the tension that it's been holding. My last one I want to mention, which I think is very par for course these days, is to take frequent micro breaks because I don't think we're taught to do that. And I this one is huge, especially if you're someone who's always on. Because every time you stop for a few seconds and breathe and stretch or sip water, or just check in with yourself, you're rewiring your brain to associate stillness with safety. So this is really going to be for us girlies who we don't even know we're in constant survival mode. Like, this is actually how I moved out of constant survival mode was micro breaks. Survival mode says, like, we can't rest. It's not safe to stop, right? Think about the woods and the mountain lion. Would you think it was safe to stop, or would you like run your ass off to get out of there? So we have to teach our nervous system the opposite that rest is safe. That's the foundation for some long-term manifestation work because peace then becomes your new baseline. Doing all of these, none of them have to be long. You don't have to escape like your reality or suppress your emotions. Just give your body proof that it's safe enough to create again. Even if it's for a few moments. Because when you do that, when you calm before you manifest, you're going to open up the part of your brain that is responsible for your imagination, your intuition, your problem solving, learning new things, the part that actually makes manifestation work. Because manifestation isn't magic falling from the sky, guys. It's not thinking in survival mode, positive thoughts, and then the universe magically blesses you. No, no, no, no. That's not manifestation. Manifestation is your mind creating new pathways through new thoughts, new emotions, and new actions that make what you want feel normal. And your brain cannot do that if you're too busy trying to survive. So if you've been trying to manifest with everything feeling chaotic around you, I don't want you to shame yourself because now you know. Like now you know, well, why that's not working? Just pause, breathe, bring yourself back into safety. Even if it's just for a few minutes. That's where your manifestation power comes back online. So this week, I want you to play with this idea. And that's to not force alignment, but to find calm first. Even if you're just working on how to find calm in your life and you're not particularly or purposefully doing anything manifestation-like work, just do that for this week. Two minutes of resetting each day can change your entire energetic state. You're gonna feel clearer and calmer and more connected to your desires because your body's finally working with your mind and not against it. Manifesting quickly doesn't come from doing more, journaling more, vision boarding more, all while you're in chaos. It comes from being regulated enough to let it flow. You're gonna manifest faster if you take two minutes to calm yourself, a few minutes to work on your manifestations, then just trying to force and push and force and push with always thinking happy thoughts and ignoring everything else going on around you. So make sure you're taking the time to ground yourself. And when you do, I want to hear from you. Send me a message on Instagram. Tell me which of these grounding exercises we talked about today that you're gonna try this week because we need to normalize manifesting from calm instead of chaos. You're not just manifesting your dreams, you're retraining your entire system to believe that peace is safe and creation is your natural state. I'll chat with you next week.
