4 Powerful Reasons Your Brain is the Greatest Manifesting Generator

Shannon Kline Episode 92

Your brain isn’t working against you, but it is running the show. In this episode, I’m breaking down the four ways your brain uses confirmation bias to generate your reality and prove your beliefs right on repeat.

We’ll dive into how your brain looks for evidence, interprets situations, remembers certain stories, and filters out anything that doesn’t match your beliefs. And once you see this, you’ll understand why your life feels like it’s reflecting the same old patterns and why that loop feels so damn airtight.

If you’ve ever felt trapped in your own mind, like you’re doing all the manifesting things but nothing’s shifting, this episode is your wake-up call. Your brain is the greatest manifesting generator you’ll ever have… but the question is, what story are you programming it with?

Speaker 1:

Welcome to the Manifest she podcast. If we haven't met, I am Shannon. In this space we talk about all things manifesting. We talk about the fun shit, the not-so-sexy shit and everything about how to manifest so that you can bring your desires into your 3D world. The deal is that whatever is in your mind is in your world, and I don't just mean in a positive vibes-only kind of way, I mean literally the way your brain processes information, creates the reality that you're living in. Your brain is running the show, not the universe out there picking favorites, not some cosmic game of roulette. It is you, through your beliefs, and so this is the not so sexy side that we don't talk about a lot or go into depth with when people are teaching manifestation online. But you guys have found me and you know me and you know we're going to do all of the stuff. We're going to do the fun stuff, we're going to do the ritual stuff, we're going to do the I get it stuff, but we're also going to talk about how this all works, because if you understand how and what is creating your reality and you have that deep understanding, then when you're putting the practices in place, that fun stuff and really putting in that work and that effort to rearrange your reality. It makes sense to you. You understand what you're doing and why you're doing it.

Speaker 1:

So your brain has this sneaky little function called confirmation bias and, honestly, it is the reason why your life looks the way it does right now. Confirmation bias is your brain's way of proving you're right. Whatever you believe, your brain says okay, cool, let's find evidence for that. And that is what your subconscious brain is doing every day, without asking your permission. And remember, 95% of what you're experiencing in your 3D world comes from your subconscious mind, and so that's why I call your brain the greatest manifesting generator you'll ever have, because everything that you manifest comes straight from you guessed it your brain. Once again, not some outside force, not something that's way bigger than you that you can't really understand, and all of that stuff, no, it comes straight from your brain, in your head. That's where the power lies. It's generating your experiences moment by moment, feeding you proof that your beliefs are true. Let's break it down so that you can understand what your brain's doing with confirmation bias and I know that's probably not the woo-woo term we're used to hearing when we're talking about manifestation, but this is the exact reason why your 3D reality appears the way it appears. So there are four functions that run in the background once again all the time, whether you realize it or not. But today you are going to realize it because you're going to understand it. And once again, once you have that understanding, then you can move your brain to do other things.

Speaker 1:

So the first thing that your brain does with confirmation bias is it looks for evidence. It's scanning your environment like a detective. It is always trying to gather proof that what you already believe is true. The second thing is your brain's going to interpret information and take neutral situations and it's going to twist them to line up with your existing beliefs. What could mean a hundred different things is always going to get filtered to line up with your existing beliefs. What could mean a hundred different things is always going to get filtered into the story that you already hold and believe to be true. The third thing is with confirmation bias is that your brain remembers what matches. So your memory isn't neutral. It's going to hold on to the things that confirm your beliefs and it's going to conveniently forget things that don't confirm those beliefs. And fourthly, to make this whole confirmation bias work and it's probably one of the wildest ones is that it's going to filter out what doesn't fit. It blocks out the evidence that doesn't align with your belief. So sometimes the proof that your story is wrong is right in front of you, but you don't even notice it because your brain blocks it. You don't even see it.

Speaker 1:

So let's just kind of recap the four things that make your brain function in confirmation bias, which is what is responsible for what you're experiencing in your 3D reality. Your brain is going to look for the evidence to tie it to what you believe. Your brain is going to interpret information to make it fit what you believe. Your brain is going to remember only what matches your belief and your brain is going to filter out anything that doesn't fit your current beliefs. So your picture of reality may not match someone else's because your brain is only going to confirm what you believe.

Speaker 1:

Have you ever said, damn. That person is so brainwashed? Like how could they be so out of touch with reality? Well, that's because of their beliefs, and their beliefs are completely different from your beliefs. So they absolutely are experiencing life differently. Their reality is different from yours and I think through life we try to understand, like how can they see the world that way or how can they perceive it that way? Well now, you know, because their brain has confirmation bias, just like your brain has confirmation bias it's all of us and so your reality is different bias it's all of us and so your reality is different than somebody else's reality.

Speaker 1:

You're creating your 3D world, what you experience, based on your beliefs, and I want you to really hone in on the fact that we're talking about your beliefs here. Your brain is working with what you already believe, so let's talk about how that would show up in your day-to-day life, because right now you may be saying like, okay, cool Shannon, nice little science lesson, but what does that have to do with me stressing about bills or running out of time or feeling left out? And this is where it gets real. This is where you really can see how a limiting belief and guys, you all know if you've been around here for a really long time I always say a limiting belief that kind of has a negative connotation, right, but a limiting belief is simply a belief that no longer serves you, whatever it is you want now, but it's a belief that you have, right. But we call those limiting beliefs, because it's limiting you from getting what you want now. And you can see through confirmation bias. Oh well, that's how my brain limits me, right? I'll walk you through a few examples so you can see how these four brain functions the looking, the interpreting, the remembering, the filtering play out with common beliefs that we hold that we're probably trying to move past when we are purposely manifesting.

Speaker 1:

So let's look at the money category first. So maybe you say money is hard to make. If you believe money is hard to make, here's how your brain is going to run with that. You're going to notice stories about people struggling financially. You'll dismiss or doubt the stories of people who are earning money with ease. You're going to feel suspicious when opportunities show up like that's too good to be true. You remember the times you worked yourself to exhaustion, but you forget the moments when money flowed easily. And so what you're experiencing is stress and struggle and feeling like you have to prove for every dollar you get, and your brain is sitting back there like see, I told you I was right Because, remember, it wants to be right about what you believe.

Speaker 1:

Let's talk about wellness, and a big one for women in the wellness category is time right. Women feel so stretched thin. So maybe you do believe you don't have enough time. And then you notice every scheduled conflict or every distraction or every deadline you miss. Maybe you dismiss opportunities to rest because you feel lazy or selfish when you do it, or selfish when you do it. You forget the time you actually did take care of yourself and you remember only the moments where you skipped rest, to reinforce the story that you never have enough time because that's what you believe. So your lived reality becomes burnout and always being behind and feeling stuck. And once again your brain is saying see, I was right, because your brain wants to be right, and we'll talk about why that is in a minute.

Speaker 1:

Or let's talk about careers. Maybe you're like I'll never get a promotion, so you notice that other people get promoted and maybe you assume they deserve it more. Or you look and interpret neutral feedback as proof that you're not enough. You downplay your own accomplishments. Or you remember every rejection, but you forget the times that you were praised. So you feel stuck and invisible and you hold back from opportunities. And once again, what is your brain saying? Everybody say it with me, see, I was right. Or how about relationships? And I'm not going to talk about love, I'm going to talk about friends, because I think us, as women, need to really focus on our friendships as much as we focus on our love life. Let's talk about relationships on a different level of friendships, and maybe you believe I don't have any friends. So your brain notices people hanging out without you, so that you immediately feel left out. Or maybe you interpret small gaps in communication as rejection. Or maybe you downplay people being kind and showing interest. But you remember every time you felt lonely and you forget when you were included and the result makes you feel like you're isolated and disconnected, that you don't belong. So your brain can proudly stamp case closed. See, I was right.

Speaker 1:

Do you see the pattern here that, whatever your belief is it doesn't matter if it's money or time, success, relationships your brain uses confirmation bias to reinforce it. It notices what matches, it interprets everything through the lens, remembers the proof that it was looking for and it deletes everything else. What you're experiencing is a mirror of your belief system. So you may be thinking well, that sucks, because now my brain sabotaging me 24-7. No wonder I'm stuck. And you know what.

Speaker 1:

That exact moment is where most women quit. They try manifesting. They dabble with affirmations and vision boards and then, when nothing changes fast enough, you think that you suck at manifesting. Or maybe it doesn't work for you, or maybe you just can't change, or maybe I've been going through this life for so long and there's so many programs and beliefs that don't benefit me. I don't even know how I have the time or energy to rewire and reprogram them all. But your brain isn't working against you, it's actually doing its job. Your brain is obsessed with three things, and three things only Efficiency, predictability and safety. The efficiency is running on autopilot, using as little energy as possible, and that's why you're repeating the same belief Makes it easy because it doesn't cost your brain extra fuel.

Speaker 1:

Your brain loves that predictability factor because it likes what's familiar, even if it sucks. It's not thinking about what sucks, it's thinking about this feels familiar because struggle can feel safer than change only because it's known territory to you. It's just predictable. It doesn't mean that you consciously like it, it's just that program, running that belief in the background that you may or may not be able to recognize yet, feels safe because at least it can predict the outcome. Even if the outcome sucks. It can predict it, but in the unknown there is zero predictability. It could work out, it could not work out, ooh, I don't know. That's something the brain's not comfortable with. And more than anything is safety, because your brain wants to keep you safe. And safe to your brain just means the same. It just equates safety with familiar. And that's for survival, to keep you safe. That's it. Once again, the predictability. So it uses those three things that it loves the most through that confirmation bias, so that it can be efficient and predictable and give you safety.

Speaker 1:

When you try to reach for something new, whether that's more money or a new career or a healthier body or better relationships, your brain's going to go uh-uh, no, that's not familiar, that's not predictable, this feels unsafe. Abort mission, abort mission, abort mission. It's not that your brain hates you, it's not that you're weak or broken. It's that your brain is hardwired to keep you in what it already knows and that, right. There is why so many women quit, not because they can't manifest, but they feel trapped inside the prison of their own thoughts. Women quit not because they can't manifest, but they feel trapped inside the prison of their own thoughts. But once you can understand what your brain is doing. You can break out of that and nobody explains that part. Nobody explains that your brain is designed to keep you looping. So of course you start thinking I must be the problem. It's just how we are built biologically. You're not the problem. The problem is you've been running with old operating systems that confuse familiar with safe. And don't stress, I have good news.

Speaker 1:

Just because your brain is wired to keep you safe and predictable and efficient doesn't mean that you're doomed to live in that loop forever. You're not stuck with it because your brain has neuroplasticity, and neuroplasticity is just a fancy way of saying that your brain can change. It has a lifelong ability to reorganize itself and to adapt and to create neural pathways based on how you want to feed it and how you want to live now. So that means you're not stuck in the old programming. You're not stuck in those old beliefs that you already have. If they were learned, they can be unlearned and it works through thoughts, emotions and actions that are deeply interconnected and that's what creates the new belief. That's why so many times manifesting advice falls flat because it says think happy thoughts.

Speaker 1:

But you need more than that. You need the thoughts, emotions and actions that feed into each other to create a new feedback loop, to literally reshape your neural pathways over time. Your thoughts are like the spark. They send the signal. They play a part, they're sending a signal. Your emotions give those thoughts power. They're the energy that tells your body this is real, this matters. And then your actions are the proof that your brain uses to lock it in. So when you show up in alignment with the thought and the emotion in, so when you show up in alignment with the thought and the emotion, the brain builds that pathway stronger and stronger. Do that consistently and your brain says oh okay, this is who we are now. This is why it's safe. This is what's real.

Speaker 1:

And that's how rewiring happens. It does not happen overnight. It does not happen by chanting an affirmation once and hoping for the best, but by practicing new thoughts, embodying the emotions that go with it and reinforcing it from aligned actions over and over, until the new belief becomes a default. That's how we manifest, because once your new belief is locked in, guess what? Your confirmation bias doesn't disappear. It just starts working for your desire. Instead of being stuck in the old belief, your brain starts to look for the evidence, the situations, remembering the proof, interpreting and filtering your world. But now it's in alignment with the desires that you wanted in your 5% conscious brain and now you've trained the other 95% to get in line with that. And that is when your world rearranges, not because the universe decided that you were worthy, but because your brain finally believes that whatever it is that you're trying to manifest is real.

Speaker 1:

Your brain is the most powerful manifesting generator you have, and confirmation bias is how it runs the show. It looks for the evidence and interprets the situations. It remembers what proves you right and it filters out everything else. What that does is it makes your reality reflect your beliefs back to you on repeat. When those beliefs are limiting, when they no longer serve you, it can feel like a trap and the loop can feel airtight because your brain is reinforcing it everywhere you look.

Speaker 1:

But your brain can change. You can rewire the loop. You can create new pathways with thoughts, emotions and actions. When you do, confirmation bias doesn't stop. Remember it doesn't stop, it's always there. It just starts working for your new timeline, for what you want now.

Speaker 1:

That's why I created Manifest Sheet On Demand Coaching, because most women get stuck at this exact spot. Now you understand. Now you know your brain is running the loop. You understand or have an idea of how to rewire it, but you may get stuck in the process, and I don't want you to be stuck. That's where On Demand steps in, because it's like having me walk you through the rewiring process in real time. We're going to pinpoint the belief that's stuck, we're going to reframe it to something that your nervous system can actually believe and then you have a 30-day plan to practice the thoughts, emotions and actions to lock it in, to do the rewiring.

Speaker 1:

The best part is you get the power of the one-on-one coaching without the one-on-one price tag and without the nightmare of trying to align schedules to mine.

Speaker 1:

I want you to be able to get the coaching when you need it, how you need it, on your time, in your world, for your desire. So right now I have a waitlist open for On Demand. If you join the waitlist, you're going to get access to the entire coaching library, not just one session, but every single session inside, for the price of one. But that is only available to the ladies that are on the waitlist, and the waitlist is going to close soon, so get on it now If you're ready to break out of the loop that you're stuck in and step into the one you actually want to get, then make sure you're on that wait list, because, at the end of the day, your brain will always generate your reality based on your beliefs. The only question is are you going to let it keep running the old loop or are you ready to reprogram it with one that actually creates the life you want? I'll chat with you next week.
